Class C (1946-1960)

C1 1947 - Alfa Romeo 6C2500 Freccia d'Oro

The very first Alfa Romeo made after the war, which destroyed most of the factories, was the 6C2500 Freccia d'oro, "the Golden Arrow". It is an improved prewar 6C2500, which followed the latest American trend of adapting a wider body and column shift in order to accommodate six passengers. What is significant is that the body was manufactured at Alfa Romeo's own factory which was the first in their history, although the design work is said to have been done by Carozzeria Touring. The exhibited car has a very curious history. It appeared in the movie "The Godfather Part 2" in which the car was blow up. Then it underwent a complete refurbishment.
