The Aston Martin DB5 is said to be the best model of the famed DB4, 5, and 6 series produced during the David Brown era of Aston Martin. The commission to design the classy body was awarded to Carrozzeria
Touring of Italy, which was well known for its super lightweight Superleggera bodies made with aluminum alloy panels on top of metal tubing frames. This made the DB series light and amongst the fastest and most luxurious GT cars in the world. However, what probably made the DB5 so popular and well known was its appearance in the James Bond 007 films such as "Goldfinger" and "Thunderball". With its elegant and striking shape and with the help of a few gadgets created by the film's chief scientist "Q", the DB5 was the first of a long line of desirable Bond cars featured in each film.
