The sports car manufacturer Cisitalia had a rather short life and when it was on the point of closing down, Carlo Abarth, of Abarth fame, bought the company. The Abarth 207A is a racing car that was in development by Cisitalia at the time it was bought out by Carlo Abarth and completed by Abarth. It could be considered to be Abarth's first racing car but it was not entirely developed by him and his crew. The car is a pure competition model featuring the original tube frame with FIAT l100/103 components tuned to the highest level. The 207 was produced in small numbers from 1955 with a barchetta body styled and built by the Carrozzeria Boano, a company founded by the Italian stylist Mario Felice Boano, a popular designer during the pre and post war years. It caused an impact on the industry at the time and the 207A is considered to be one of Abarth's most beautiful models.
