1963 Ferrari 250GTO)

[Special Exhibition: Ferrari Club of Japan]

The best racing GT Ferrari
This GTO is the homologation model based on the 250GT SWB produced in 1962, when Ferrari had ambitions to conquer the FIA GT Class. The car was designed and engineered by the genius Giotto Bizzarrini. The aerodynamics of the SWB have been refined and the V12 engine of the 250TR (Testa Rossa) installed. Ferrari’s plan became reality and the car won the FIA GT Class Title for three consecutive years from 1962 to 1964. In 1964, there were only 3 of the Series 2 models produced, each having the latest aerodynamic body. The car displayed here was updated in May 1963, and modified to the Series 2. Hence it is called the 63/64.
