The Bentley that started the“ Oily Boys”

This Bentley 3 litre is the car which Jiro Shirasu acquired while he was studying abroad at Cambridge, England. The chassis number 653 and the registration of XT7471 are still present today. Jiro sold the car and then it changed hands a number of times amongst Bentley enthusiasts in the U.K. After the war, the car was re-bodied by Vanden Plas to its current Le Mans style. During this conversion the engine was replaced with the 4398cc version and overdrive for high speed driving was added. This is the car which gave Jiro Shirasu“ the essence” for his lifestyle.
