O.S.C.A. was founded by 3 Maserati brothers in Bologna in 1947 after selling their previous company, Maserati, to the Orsi Family. The MT4 was the greatest racing sports car in their early period. It was successful in lightweight class races. O.S.C.A. made their own engines, straight 4-cylinder units (SOHC in early production, while
the 2AD had DOHC) mounted in their own frames. This entry has a great winning history driven by a top driver, Giulio Cabianca. It originally had a "siluro" body with separate fenders, but it was changed to the current barchetta body made by Fratelli Morelli due to a change of regulations. This car is highly valued in terms of its quality of design. It is simple but beautiful and elegant - typical of Italian sports cars.
