Cisitalia was a sports car manufacturer based in Turin that emerged right after WWII. The founder, Piero Dusio, was an Italian entrepreneur, racecar driver, as well as player and owner of the soccer team "Juventus." Due to the excessive investment required to win Grands Prix, this company folded after only a few years - but their products are still regarded highly to this day. The beauty of the 1947 202 Coupe by Pininfarina exceeded everyone's expectations and was called a "running jewel", enchanting sports car enthusiasts worldwide. However, due to its extremely high price, it wasn't a commercial success. This coupe was exhibited at The Modern Museum of Art (MoMA) in New York in l95l. In the official catalog for this exhibition, the industrial design researcher, A. Drexler, describes the car as "a moving sculpture." It became the first automobile permanently exhibited in the museum.
