The Bentley 3.OL is the first car that the legendary founder, W.O.Bentley, gave his own name. It is considered to be the masterpiece of British sports cars of the vintage era. It won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924 and 1927, as well as many other major races in Europe. As a road-going car, the 3L had many avid admirers among affluent sports men in Europe. Its straight 4-cylinder SOHC engine has 4 valves per cylinder. Power output was 70ps from 2,996cc displacement, more than sufficient in the l920s, and it could hit 80 mph (130km/h). This entry has a body with a simple but exciting design manufactured by Freestone & Webb. Freestone and Webb was one of the oldest coachbuilders in Britain and provided Bentley with a variety of bodies. The presence of 'The Bentley Boys" back in these
days is defhitely prominent in this 3 Litre.
