A1 1910: Rolls-Royce 40/50HP "Silver Ghost" Tourer by Baker

The Silver Ghost is an iconic automobile manufactured by Henry Royce and Charles Rolls. It is known as the best car in the world. Royce wanted to make great cars at the beginning of the 20th century and Rolls joined Royce to make this dream come true. The Silver Ghost is the product created in the 3rd year of the establishment of their company - and it is this automobile that gave Rolls Royce its worldwide popularity. By following the company tradition, the taxable horsepower, "40/50 HP" was made a part of the name. In 1908, a silver colored tourer completed a legendary 15,000-mile reliability test. It traveled the distance between Glasgow and London for 40 days and nights without ever stopping its engine. This successful trip gave 40/50HP the nickname 'Silver Ghost' for its silver body and quiet, Smooth ride. Royce's values were incorporated into the Silver Ghost, with its extremely detailed design and top-level engineering. Its high quality and durability surprised the world at the time it appeared.
