The 250SL was in production for only one year, and was soon replaced by the larger-engined 280SL. This has led to some debate amongst Mercedes fans as to which model is the more collectable, the superior performing 280SL or the low volume 250SL. From a rarity Point of view, certainly the honours must go to the 250SL. It has a modern engine, disc brakes and sporty handling with a touch of exotica. Thanks to its
limited production, it is a true collectors' car.
