2009 Tokyo Concours d'Elegance
Dear friends and fellow enthusiasts
I am delighted that following the success of the first Tokyo Concours d'Elegance in October 2007 we are able to hold the second event this year even though the modern, global car industry is experiencing its toughest period since cars went into mass production.
Key elements of any Concours d'Elegance, and Tokyo is no exception, is that all cars entered must be rare, entirely or largely made by hand, and were produced as 'one-off's or in small quantities. All the cars gathered for this year's competition meet this criteria, which adds to the excitement of seeing such cars as they are rarely shown in public by their owners.
Tokyo Concours d'Elegance 2009 is once again in central Tokyo. This year we are displaying cars in the sky, on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. This makes for a unique Concours d'Elegance as usually events are held on grass or pavement. As Tokyo is such an amazing city we decided this year to combine the backdrop of Tokyo's skyline with rare and gougeous classic cars. This year the cars will be displayed for 24 days instead of 1 or two days which is typical outside of Japan.
Once again we have managed to find cars never seen in public before and others that only make rare appearances, so a special teat is assured for everyone who attends regardless of how much you know about cars.
l'd like to thank all the private Owners Who are entering their cars and our prestigious team of judges who will judge the cars on April 2nd, many of whom judged in our first event.
So enjoy the spectacle.
